Emily Ward (Barbarina)
Emily is a young lyric soprano honored to be making her mainstage debut with the San Antonio Opera. Emily's opera credits include The Countess in Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro," Lucy in "The Telephone" by Menotti, The Witch in Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel", Lady Billows in "Albert Herring", Donna Anna in "Don Giovanni", the Cousin in "Madame Butterfly", and Lola in "Gallantry". She looks forward to a busy season with the San Antonio Opera singing Suor Genovieffa in "Suor Angelica" and Barbarina in "Le Nozze di Figaro". Other roles in the upcoming season include Adina in "L'elisir d'amore" and Vespina in Haydn's "L'infidelta delusa". Emily holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Louisville and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Oklahoma. Emily is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Music Arts degree in Voice with Opera Emphasis from The University of Texas at Austin, where she studies with Ms. Darlene Wiley.
