Bonnie Victor-Fried Biography


Daughter of the Regiment Cast

Bonnie Victor-Fried started singing and performing as a youngster in the Ft. Worth Opera chorus. She received her Bachelor of Music at the University of Oklahoma and her Masters in Voice at Texas Tech University. She continued her vocal education and training at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara and has sung professionally in local theatres in England, on both coasts of the United States and extensively here in San Antonio. Bonnie made her debut with the San Antonio Symphony as Mrs. Paroo in "The Music Man" in 1995 and was one of the Liebeslieder in "A Little Night Music". She has also narrated for the Symphony in "Haleakala" and Robert Rodriguez' "Colors of the Symphony" and sung Lalume in "Kismet". Bonnie has also directed several musicals including "Little Mary Sunshine", "The Mikado" and "Iolanthe". Other performing roles include Jinny Lind in "Barnum", "Basically Berlin", "Is There Life After High School", "Follies", "Ladies at the Alamo", "Angry Housewives", Martha Mitchell in "Miranda Rites", "Kool Jams the Alien Show", the baker's wife in "Into the Woods", Kate in "Kiss Me, Kate", Aldonza in "The Man of La Mancha", Sara Jane Moore in "Assassins", Carlotta in "Phantom" and is a founding member of the Divas. She was also in Lyric Opera of San Antonio's "La Traviata" as Flora. At Southpoint Theatrical Productions, Bonnie co-wrote and performed in "Cocktails with Cole" and won the local "Globe" award for "Till Gershwin do us part". In the other waking moments, Bonnie is the patron services manager and box office manager for San Antonio Opera.
