American mezzo-soprano Crystal Jarrell made her company debut as The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors in 2006. Recent performances include Countess Ceprano and Paggio in Rigoletto and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with San Diego Opera, Stephano in Romeo and Juliet and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly with Nashville Opera, and Olga in The Merry Widow with Indianapolis Opera. Other roles in her repertoire include Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro, Third Lady and Papagena in The Magic Flute, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, Olga in Eugene Onegin, Emily in The Ballad of Baby Doe, Mary Stone in The Devil and Daniel Webster and Zita in Gianni Schicchi. She has given performances with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, Indianapolis Arts Chorale and Bloomington Symphony Orchestra and has also appeared in concert at the Indianapolis Film Festival. Jarrell is an alumna of the young artist programs of San Diego Opera, Nashville Opera, Utah Festival Opera and Indianapolis Opera, and is a two-time Regional Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions held in Los Angeles, California.
