Why give?

Opera incorporates almost every other art form; orchestra, chorus, dance, design, painting, sculpture, etc., are all a part of this magical form. As such, it is arguably the most challenging to produce and inarguably the most expensive. Similar to other opera companies in this nation, ticket sales at the San Antonio Opera account for only about one-third of our total budget. Gifts and contributions must make up the difference. Fiscal stability and the guarantee of an ongoing concern therefore depend to a great extent upon your generosity.

In addition to live on-stage performance, your opera company has also embraced its responsibility to educate and expose young persons to this awesome, multi-faceted combined art form. Through various programs, in excess of 30,000 students from the region are reached each year. Your support is crucial to this important role which we have undertaken.

The Opera product demands the highest level of artistry; the Board and staff work most diligently to bring the very best possible to you and, in turn, ask your help in continuing to provide San Antonio and South Texas with fully professional opera through the efforts of your opera company, the San Antonio opera.

For any gift, please let us know if you wish to be listed among the donors of the opera and, if so, what that listing should properly be.

In accordance with IRS regulations, the fair-market value of benefits and privileges associated with certain levels of giving may somewhat reduce the tax deductibility of your gifts. The value of such benefits will be noted in our acknowledgment of your gift OR you may notify us if you do not wish to receive any benefits.
