Education Manager
Natalie Nead Chipman was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she studied piano with Roberta Hunter and Geraldine Winn, music theory with Dr. Gary Soren Smith and choral music with Lee Stevens Glover. Natalie continued in piano performance under Dr. Jeffrey Shumway at Brigham Young University and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance and Education at The University of Texas, San Antonio. Ms. Coronado has taught high school choir, elementary general music and held directorships at Saint John Lutheran Church in Boerne, Texas and Northern Hills United Methodist Church in San Antonio.
In 2005 Natalie earned the National Piano Performance Award from the American Mother's Organization. Her solo and choral compositions have been selected for performance and recording in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, locally and on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Natalie's current projects include choral pieces for youth and a song cycle based on writings of 19th Century and pioneer women. Natalie served as Staff Accompanist for UTSA and rehearsal accompanist for the San Antonio Opera as well as for the San Antonio Three Tenors. Ms. Coronado began working as production director of the Opera 4 Kids performances in 2007 and has been the educational liaison between the SA Opera and Region 20. Her professional affiliations include: Music Educators National Convention; American College of Musicians; American Choral Directors Association; American Guild of English Handbell Ringers; Music Teachers National Association, Texas Music Educators Association and Opera America.
