Nili Riemer (Marie) The Rochester Post Bulletin declares that "The show-stealer is Nili Riemer," lauding her as "perfect as Oscar,...Riemer was an unforgettable Olympia in "Hoffmann," and her easy coloratura and sparkling stage presence make her ideal in this role." Among her engagements in the 2009-10 season is the title role of Lucia di Lammermoor with Cleveland Opera as well as Laoula in L'etoile with Austin Lyric Opera. In the 2008-09 season, her engagements included her first performances of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance with Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Clorinda in La cenerentola with Florda Grand Opera. Ms. Riemer has received a number of awards and grants from the Gerda Lissner Foundation, Shoshannah Foundation, and Career Bridges. She is also a former winner of the Nebraska district Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, first place winner of the Schubert Club Competition, second place winner of the Altamura-Caruso International Vocal Competition, and third place winner of the Queens Opera Competition. The Israeli-born soprano holds a Master of Music degree from the State University of New York-Binghamton. She is a graduate of the five-year accelerated dual-degree program at New England Conservatory of Music and Tufts University, where she earned a Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in International Relations.
