Ms. Lopez has captivated audiences in performances of a wide range of repertoire, including her critically acclaimed appearance as Catherine in the Metropolitan Opera premier run of Tobias Picker's opera A View from the Bridge. Ms. Lopez has performed roles which include Micaela in Carmen, Mimi in La Boheme, the title role of Tosca, Cio Cio, San in Madama Butterfly, Nedda in I Pagliacci, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, Marguerite in Faust, Violetta in La Traviata, and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with companies that include Florida Grand Opera, Palm Beach Opera, Nashville Opera, Fort Worth Opera, Berkshire Opera, Connecticut Grand Opera, PORT Opera, Opera North (USA), among others. Last season, Ms Lopez was selected for the acoustical testing of the new Sanford and Dolores Ziff Ballet Opera at the Carnival Performing Arts Center in Miami, Florida, and also performed the role of Mimi in their Opening Night Gala Celebration.
After winning the prestigious Metropolitan Opera National Council Award, Ms. Lopez was joined The Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program from 2000-2003 where she was assigned covers and performances of Marguerite in Faust, Liù in Turandot, Roberta Alden in the world premier of Tobias Picker's An American Tragedy, Frasquita in Carmen, Tebaldo in Don Carlo, Fourth Maid in Elektra, Flowermaiden in Parsifal, among others.
As comfortable in concert as on the opera stage, Ms. Lopez has toured with Andrea Bocelli to critical acclaim and has performed Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Gounod's Saint Cecilia Mass and Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, as well as many Opera Gala concerts and recitals with various Festivals and Symphonies, including The Madison Symphony, Opera Pacific, Fort Worth Symphony, Greensboro Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Puerto Rico Symphony, Queens Symphony, Miami Chamber Society, Manchester Music Festival and the New Choral Society.
Ms Lopez has been the recipient of numerous prizes, awards, and grants. To name a few, these include winner of the Metropolitan Opera Competition, Grand Prize winner with the Florida Grand Opera Young Patroness Association, Career Grant Recipient from the George London Foundation, World Finalist in the Luciano Pavarotti Competition.
Ms. Lopez has worked with many conductors including James Levine, Julius Rudel, Eduardo Müller, Valery Gergiev, Fabio Luisi, Yves Abel, Stewart Robertson, Anton Guadagno, Katherine Kelly, Dennis Russell Davies, Donald Runnicles, Stephen Lord, Laurence Gilgore and Steven White to name a few.
Upcoming engagements for Ms. Lopez include the title role of Tosca for her debut with Opera de Oviedo in Oviedo, Spain, Micaela in Carmen with the Fort Worth Opera Festival and for her debut with the Cincinnati Opera, and several Opera Galas, Zarzuela and song Recitals throughout the United States.
